Stevens' code –– The code is also available to you from the course account subdirectory on the CS system ~cse533/Stevens/unpv13e .  Note the template makefile ~cse533/Makefile which shows you how to compile your code using the libraries from Stevens' code that are in the course account, as an alternative to needing to maintain a copy of these libraries in your own home directory.
