Reviving one of the classic traditions of our department (last time this happened in the CS department was in 1999), the CSGSC is happy to present the 26th edition (since they decided to call the '99 event, the 25th!) of the international dinner.
Venue: Computer Science Department
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Date: Sunday, 2nd March, 2003
As always, ID'03 brings together food researchers - "theoreticians" as well as practitioners, gourmands, gluttons, and dietetists from a variety of culinary disciplines (countries). You are invited to submit a dish demonstrating the culinary taste of your country or a special "hometown's" style. The authors are highly encouraged to make their dishes edible/drinkable and as colorful as possible. Oringinal dishes born out of extensive experimentation are especially welcome. We also warmly welcome you to attend ID'03 as a guest, and in this capacity we ask that you bring to the conference an apetite as well as as compliments for the authors!!!
You are highly encouraged to submit an abstract (includes Title, author and coauthors) to the program committee chair Abhijeet Ghosh (abhijeet@cs.sunysb.edu) before the conference. No deadline is to be enforced. Outstanding recipies might even be published as part of the conference proceedings!
The unofficial mission of a graduate student, should he/she chooses to accept it, is to get in, gain internatioanl experience, write a thesis that nobody will ever read, and get out. Though we can't help with the thesis part, ID'03 certainly promises to cater to the the "international experience" aspect of this mission!!! So all graduate students, faculty, staff and as well as their family members and friends are most welcome!
Sponsored by Computer Science Graduate Student Council and the Computer Science Department.
