Using the Projector in Room 1310
In the top left drawer of the cabinet near the door is a set of wireless remotes: one black , one white joined on a keychain. The black remote operates the master on/off for both the projector and the wireless SVGA adapter connected to the projector. It is labeled "Main Power & Projector." The white remote only operates the on/off for the wireless SVGA adapter plugged into the projector. It is labeled "Wireles Video. The projector is left in the "on" condition without power supplied. The wireless unit plugged into the projector is off by default.
1. Lower the projection screen as required. The switch is located next to the window with the vent. Toggle the switch up to raise the screen and down to lower the screen.
2. The supply side of the wireless SVGA is usually left on a table top in the room. The unit has a power-pack and PC video cable attached. Plug the power-pack into a nearby outlet and the video cable into your video source. (Note: The wireless SVGA has a fan visible on top on the unit and status LED's. If they don't operate then either there's a power issue or a problem with the unit.)
3. Set the video source to the wireless SVGA to either 800x600 @60Hz or 1024x768 @60Hz and leave it turned on.
4. Next turn on the master switch (use black remote). Press the red button on the black remote and listen for the fan on the projector to come on.
4a. Wait 20 seconds for the "SHARP" logo to appear on the screen.
5. Using the white remote press the "on" button. Within 8 seconds you should see:
1. Upper right corner: Input 1 <some video mode>
2. Center, bottom of screen: Connecting to ....
6. After 8 seconds you will see the output from your device. This will last for 4-5 seconds and then the screen will go blank for 20 seconds. This is normal (in an abnormal way) behavior. The image will reappear.
7. When you're done, use the black remote to turn off the projector. Unplug the wireless SVGA from your video source and unplug the power-pack. Return the remotes to the top left drawer of the cabinet near the door.
The projector/wireless combo has been tested with a Dell laptop having an ATI video chipset, running WinXP. It ran 30 consecutive hours without issue. A Powerpoint slide show was run without error. The projector type was set to a generic SVGA projector.
REMEMBER TO RETURN THE REMOTES TO THE CABINET DRAWER WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED!
