Professor Annie Liu has received 2009-2010 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities

The award is given to faculty "who have demonstrated a record of sustained scholarship in the sciences, humanities, and professional studies or consistent creative productivity in the fine and performing arts." There will be an official awards dinner in October. The award will be announced in "Happenings", the University's Senate report, and other venues in the fall. Prof. Liu does research in Programming Languages and Systems, Program Design and Optimization, Program Analysis, and their applications in Reactive Systems, Database Systems, Semantic Web, and Security.
