Associate Professor Erez Zadok received a $20,000 IBM Faculty award, for 2007-2008, to investigate the impact of storage software and aging on power consumption. This is an ever-increasing important field of research because storage hardware tends to consume a lot of power in modern systems, and produce a lot of heat as a result. Data centers of the future are expected to be more energy efficient than today's systems.
IBM's Faculty Award program is a highly selective annual competition; this is Zadok's second IBM Faculty award.
Dr. Zadok teaches CSE376, CSE391, CSE506, CSE624, CSE659 and carries out research in file and storeage systems.
