Dr. I.V. Ramakrishnan has received a 2007-2008 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities.

The award is given to faculty "who have demonstrated sound and sustained scholarship in the sciences, humanities, and professional studies or consistent creative productivity in the fine and performing arts." There will be an official awards dinner in October. The award was announced in the Senate's May report ("Happenings") and will be announced during the fall convocation. Dr. Ramakrishnan does research in Computing with Logic, Machine Learning and Internet Technologies. His current project is called HearSay which enables the web for visually impaired surfers.
