The Young Investigators Research Program (YIP) award went to 38 individuals nationwide (from 202 nominated), and Dr. Piyush Kumar (CS PhD, 2004) won!

Congratulations to Dr. Piyush Kumar (Computer Science PhD, 2004) on being named a winner in the highly competitive 2010 Air Force Young Investigator Research Program! Only 38 junior faculty nationwide were selected for this highly competitive distinction. Piyush did his PhD at Stony Brook under the advisorship of Prof. Joe Mitchell in the area of computational geometry. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Florida State University. He also has the distinction of winning an NSF CAREER award in 2007. Way to go, Piyush!"
