Cristian Mata's Scholarship will provide $6,000 to cover tuition and fees for a continuing Junior or Senior student in the Computer Science Honors Program for the 2009-2010 academic year. The recipient will be selected based on academic achievement. Chris Mata is a member of the technical staff at Renaissance Technologies, LLC.
Frank Zinghini's scholarship will cover tuition and fees for a freshman admitted to the Computer Science Honors Program. The scholarship provides $6,000 per year for four years, and will be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. The scholarship is limited to US Citizens with a preference (although not a requirement) for NY Metro natives. Frank Zinghini is the Founder, President, and CEO of Applied Visions, Inc.
Both scholarships will be awarded at the Computer Science Honors Dinner in November.
The demand for public higher education has never been greater, while the public resources to meet that demand are shrinking - fast. Stony Brook alumni and friends support for our students is vital, now more than ever.
