How can I make sure I have all patches / critical updates from Microsoft?

A. Microsoft has a website to provide all the latest patches / critical updates for your system. You can go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and follow the instructions to find out which updates can be applied to your computer. You can also configure your computer to automatically apply the updates without interruption. Please refer to the last link for this.
