The Research Laboratories and department offices of the Computer Science department are headquartered in the Computer Science Building, which has more than 20,000 square feet of lab space. The department research facilities are extensive. All of the Research Laboratories are connected to the Internet through the campus high-speed connection.
Each PhD student who has not joined a research lab gets a department office with a system on his or her desk.
If you are a high school student and are interested in expanding your Computer Science experience, consider enrolling in one of the summer research programs at Stony Brook. Simmons Fellowship program for high school student research involvement which will last 7 weeks. It is open to outstanding high school students (primarily Juniors) who would like to undertake some computer science research.
Details of the program are outlined on the THE SIMONS PROGRAM web site. For more information, please contact Karen Kernan (email@example.com) or Dimitris Samaras in the Computer Science Department.
