Lab 4 - Word Processors
Goals: Introduce the students to using Word Processor software applications.
Introduction
Word Processor programs are one of the most widely used applications in the business environment. They are used for writing reports, memos, and even books. Today we will use a word processor to make an advertisement type flyer.
Instructions
Open Microsoft Word and make a new File. Design and create a flier advertisement for your major. All fliers must have a prominently placed image (would be called a splash screen on a Web page) to attract eyes to your flier. It should also be somewhat informative and descriptive. The point of it is to get people interested in your college major. Do this work as though you have been hired by your department (e.g. Computer Science, History, etc.), so try to do a professional job.
For today's Lab: Create the majority of the file, in particular selecting and laying out the image for the flier. Save your image as a .doc file and upload it to your Web account so you can download and edit it at home.
For Home: - Complete your flier and print it out such that it looks nice on one page. Also save it as a Web page. Then, upload both your completed .doc file and your Web page and place links to both of these items on your CSE 101 lab assignment page.
