CSE 110 Fall 2009 CodeLab CodeLab provides students with some online web-based simple exercises. Students get immediate feedback so that they can fix the error and submit a correct solution. Registration-1: Go to www.tcgo1.com, (or tcgo2.com) and click "regis- ter" in the upper right corner, and click Student on the next screen. Click CONTINUE. Our course Introduction to Computer Science has six sections, numbered L01, L02, ..., L06. This is the same as your lab- section number. Enter the appropriate access code for your lab- section including hyphens. Make sure that you register for the same lab-section that you have for CSE 110 at Stony Brook. Access Codes: Here are six access-codes for six sections. Lab-section L01: SUN-STOBRO-9095-0 Lab-section L02: SUN-STOBRO-9091-0 Lab-section L03: SUN-STOBRO-9087-0 Lab-section L04: SUN-STOBRO-9083-0 Lab-section L05: SUN-STOBRO-9079-0 Lab-section L06: SUN-STOBRO-9075-0 Registration-2: Again click CONTINUE and proceed with filling out the rest of the form. A valid e-mail address is required. You may use your e-mail address on sparky, but choose another password. On the next screen, enter your last and first names. These will appear on class roster for CSE 130. Once registration process is completed, you will see a link for login. You may use that. Login: Go to www.tcgo1.com, (or tcgo2.com) and click "login" in upper right corner. Username is the e-mail address given during registra- tion, and the password is whatever you selected at that time. Load: After you login, click load on the next screen to load your CSE 110 assignments. Again make sure that you are on the page for your lab-section. When load completes, you will get a screen with two win- dows. The one on left will have your assignments and the other window is for entering your solutions. These windows are separated by two adjacent vertical black lines. You may move these lines to increase the width of assignment window and reduce the width of solution win- dow. Assignment Window: Initially you will see CodeLab with a plus (+) sign and a small gray triangle. Both can be clicked. If you click +, you will open up assignments layer by layer, and + will become a - (minus sign). If you click -, you will close assignments layer by layer and go back to CodeLab. If you click the triangle, then it will open up assignments all at once, all the way to the lowest level. Individual questions: Individual questions on every assignment are numbered 20005, 20010 and so on. Click any individual question number, and the the actual exercise will be displayed above the solution win- dow. Solutions: Type your solutions in the solution window and click sub- mit. It will be checked for errors, and you will get a feed back immediately. Free ride: You get to do 10 exercises free without any payment. This is just for trying it out. The CodeLab will not keep track of what you did. Full Access: To get full access, login to CodeLab. Click LOBBY, and then click Get Full Access. Follow the directions for a payment to CodeLab. It is $15 for the whole semester. There is no refund if you drop the course. Due Date: Each assignment is due at midnight on the due date. For example, if due date was Sept 8, then you had time until 23.59pm, (i. e. midnight of Sept 8) to submit your solutions. Do not wait until the last minute. Grades: CodeLab keeps track of how many exercises are completed on time by every student. This information is sent back to instructor of the course. Your grade for the CodeLab part will depend on how many exercises are completed successfully before deadline for each assign- ment. Late Submissions: Please try to do these exercises before the due date and time. There is no partial credit for late submissions.
