My Past Jobs:

My job at Vecon Lab: Veconlab is an experimental economics lab sponsored by the National Science foundation. It is run by Professor Charles Holt. I have been working at the Veconlab as a research assistent fince Spring 2003. Some of my dueties have included organizing experiments, gathering data, organizing data, proofreading scientific papers, etc.

Teaching Assistant for Computer Science 216: Computer Science 216 is a third semester Computer Science Course in the Computer Science sequence for CS majors. The title of the course is "Program and Data Structures." This is my 2nd semester TAing for this class. Some of my dueties include helping out to run lab sections, holding office hours every week, and grading exams.

Grader for Computer Science 432: Computer Science 432 is a a course in Algorithms. I am primarily responsible for grading selested homework assignments, exams, and coming up with some assignments.

 

Publications:

Technological Innovation and Increasing Returns to Scale: A Pathway to Mitigate Climate Change and Conventional Air Pollution: Published in 2005 in World Resource Review (Volume 17, Number 1). The paper looks at endogenous technological innovation and shows that the restrictions on emissions of greenhouse gases and conventional polutants do not necessarly restrain GDP from growing. (Coauthored with Alexander Golub) Paper available upon request.

Trade and Environment: How the Transition to Market Economy Affects Environmental Quality: Upcoming. This paper will be published in Oculus, the Journal of Undergraduate Research at the University of Virginia. The paper analyses how different factors affected the Carbon Emission Intensity in the Countries with Transition Economies, to conclude that the transition to the market economy was benefitial to the environmental conditions of countries involved.

 

Presentations:

Trade and Environment: How the Transition to Market Economy Affects Environmental Quality : Presented in November 2004 at the Undergraduate Research Symposium at the University of Virginia held by the Undergraduate Research Network.

 

Past Organizations:

Monroe Society: I am currently the president of Monroe Society. Monroe Society is a student-run organization that organizes overnight stays for prospective high school students, and dorm tours during the "Days on the Lawn" for admitted students. Previous positions held: Vice-President and Special Projects Chair. Dueties as president include: running meetings, keeping track of deadlines, recruiting the Board of Directors and Executive Board, primary contact with prospective students. Currently Monroe Society has about 60 members and 300 first-year hosts.

Ballroom Dance Club: I am currently the club's secretary. As a secretary my dueties include organizing competions, making travel arrangements for club's members, taking minutes at meetings, serve as a primary information source for those that have questions, producing the bi-annual newsletter, etc.
