We are using Windows Vista in the Graduate Lab. Some of the advantages with this new infrastructure are as follows
- Roaming profile i.e. Your Documents, Desktop, Favorites and application preferences travel with you when you change workstations
- Your data in “Documents” and “Desktop” is centrally stored
- Remote secure access to “Documents” folder (SFTP to 'files.ad.cs.sunysb.edu' on port '130')
- Better Security, Upgraded applications, Modern Operating System
- Better printing compatibility
- More Storage Quota (1GB per user)

How to Print?
Printing has been upgraded in the Graduate Windows Lab to provide better compatibility with newer applications and speed up printing. Printers are available as Publaser, and Publaser2. "Publaser" is set to duplex printing by default. To print single sided, please choose "General Everyday printing" from the "Printer properties/preferences" on the printer selection box.
How to Scan?
The scanner can be accessed only from workstation 5. Either use Acrobat Professional or the Scanning utility on that workstation to scan your documents.
