What's ORS?

The Ongoing Research Seminar provides an opportunity for the Stony Brook Community to keep up with research throughout the Computer Science Department as well as exciting developments from around the country. Each week, either a faculty member or an invited speaker presents his/her CUrrent research. The seminar helps incoming students get exposure to the variety of research topics available at Stony Brook. This information is invaluable when choosing an advisor and project.

The Ongoing Research Seminar is also one credit seminar, CSE 600 - Topics in Modern Computer Science. Students receive credit and the only course requirement is regular attendance. We encourage all graduate students interested in computer science to enroll, but CSE 600 cannot be taken to satisfy M.S. graduation requirements.

The ORS meets regularly every Friday at 2:15pm in the Seminar room and ends in time for Donut Hour at 3:15pm.

The Ongoing Research Seminar is organized by  the Computer Science Graduate Student Concil. If you have any questions or comments about the seminar, please let us know.
