Areas of Interest

Mobile/wireless networking, ad hoc, mesh and sensor networks, performance evaluation, parallel discrete-event simulation.

I direct the "Wireless Networking and Simulation Lab" (or WINGS lab).

Most of my recent publications are related to various forms of wireless networking, including WLAN, mesh, ad hoc, vehicular and sensor networks, and dynamic spectrum access systems. Earlier, I also published on parallel discrete event simulation. Most of the recent papers are online.

Where I have been

I was educated at Jadavpur University in Kolkata (Calcutta) and Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. I got my PhD in computer science from Georgia Tech in Atlanta. I also worked briefly in Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata (Calcutta). Prior to Stony Brook, I was a faculty member in Computer Science at the  University of Texas at San Antonio and then in Computer Engineering at University of Cincinnati.
