Computer Science 101 - Computer and Information Technology

The laboratory component of the course will consist of two parts. The laboratory exercises are fully scripted drills in using each of several software applications. There will also be four computer projects, which will enable you to demonstrate your creative use of these applications.

Students must get at least two high-density 3.5'' disks for storing laboratory files on. It is advisable to use the second diskette to make a copy of the files on the first one, due to the non-permanent nature of diskettes. Additionally, there may be a few times when diskettes are collected in order to grade lab exercises and projects.

All the laboratory exercises for Microsoft Office applications will be taken from Grauer and Barber (GB). Exercises on Netscape and HTML will be developed by the instructor and made available on the CSE 101 WWW page.

Below is the recommended schedule for laboratory exercises, although you may complete them at your own pace.
