Short Bio

    I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student in Department of Computer Science, Stony Brook University, working with Prof. Hong Qin. I was a research intern at Siemens Corporate Research (2008) and Kodak Research Laboratories (2009). Before coming to Stony Brook, I got my Bachelor degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2004, and Master degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007.

Research Interests

    I am interested in Visual Computing on images, graphs, meshes, points, manifolds, and volumes. The related fields include Computer Graphics, Visualization, Computer Vision, Computational Photography, Computational Geometry, Image Processing. Manifold Learning, and Data Mining.
    My thesis topic is about kernel design and metric design on manifold data. We studied diffusion kernel, wavelet kernel, diffusion-centered coordinates, probability-density-function distance, etc. An illustrative introdunction of my research is available at here.
