Welcome to WiCS at Stony Brook University! We are an organization whose mission is to provide encouragement and support to women, both Graduate and Undergraduate, in the field of computing. We aim to foster understanding between men and women in Computer Science and to increase and improve women's involment in the dicipline. We hold events, both academic and social in nature, approximately once a month on both Wednesday afternoons and Thursday evenings, and work with other groups and the Computer Science department. We are an official
ACM-W chapter and we're currently in the process of gaining recognition and funding from the
Graduate Student Organization.
