Research

My current areas of interest include software engineering, information systems, medical informatics, and parallel programming.

Some of the active research projects are listed below:

• Emergency Department Error Detection System (EEDS) - a system to identify potential medical errors in the Emergency Department.
• Marine Science Database project - a system to collect, store, and retrieve marine and atmospheric data concerning the Long Island Sound and other bodies of water.
• Marine Feature Identification project - an image processing system to identify marine features based on images obtained thorugh a Web camera.
• Universal Medical Monitor - a software development project to construct a Java API for access to patient medical data obtained through medical monitors.
• Anesthesiology Quality Assurance (AnesQA) - a project to develop ways of predicting changes in patient condition, primarily in the OR and ICU.
